On the morning of May 29th, Professor Chen Guoqiang, Vice President of Yanshan University, led a team of four to Hebei Yongming Geological Project Machinery Co., Ltd. to discuss the cooperation between industry, academia and research on intelligent drilling equipment. The chairman of the company, Wu Yongzhou, warmly welcomed the visit of Chen Guoqiang and his delegation, presided over a discussion and exchange, and the general manager, Wang Zhanming, accompanied the visit and research in the factory. 

Accompanied by Wang Zhanming, General Manager of Hebei Yongming, and relevant department heads, Chen Guoqiang and his delegation visited the production workshops of the Top Drive Branch, Pump Industry Branch, and Drilling Tool Branch, and gained a detailed understanding of the company’s manufacturing and research and development capabilities, market share, patent achievements, and other related information. 

At the workshop of the Top Drive Branch, Chen Guoqiang and his delegation visited the international third-generation electric direct drive top drive device, which has obtained multiple provincial first sets of products. They learned that this series of top drives is independently developed by the enterprise and belongs to the national intelligent high-end equipment manufacturing field of “strengthening the foundation, supplementing the chain, and filling the gaps” in the technical field of drilling depths greater than 5000 meters in China. With its advantages in energy conservation and environmental protection, high efficiency, high reliability, and advanced automation, it promotes the technological progress of the drilling industry. After listening to the introduction, Chen Guoqiang highly recognized Hebei Yongming’s ingenious development in technological innovation and continuous building of the exploration industry brand. 

At the symposium, Chen Guoqiang, introduced the achievements of the university in discipline construction, talent training, scientific and technological innovation and school-enterprise cooperation in recent years. In the Alumni Association’s 2023 Chinese University First-class Majors Ranking, Yanshan University’s mechanical design, manufacturing and automation major ranked third, becoming a seven-star major in China, highlighting the university’s advantages and strength in the field of engineering technology. In addition, Yanshan University’s material forming and control engineering, metal materials engineering and other majors have been rated as China’s six-star majors. Then the two sides shared and talked about the cooperation of VI projects and how to take the road of scientific and technological innovation to achieve a prosperous and strong enterprise.

During the symposium, the leaders of both parties had in-depth exchanges on subject construction, talent cultivation, employment internships, and other special topics, and reached a consensus on cooperation. Both sides of the discussion agreed that in the future, communication and cooperation between schools and enterprises should be further strengthened.
